Risk of Rain 2 Lunar Items: Costs, Effects & Trade-offs

At a glance

Lunar items exchange powerful effects for drawbacks. Buy them from Lunar Pods or the Bazaar, and judge the cost to your build before picking them up.

Where to get lunar items

Lunar Pods and the Bazaar Between Time are key sources. Bazaar Lunar Buds cost 2 Lunar Coins each. Activating a Newt Altar to enter the Bazaar normally costs another coin. Gold and Lunar Coins are separate currencies.

Compare the trade-offs

Item Benefit Cost to consider
Shaped Glass Increases base damage by 100% Halves maximum health, leaving much less room for mistakes
Gesture of the Drowned First stack reduces equipment cooldown by 50% Forces equipment use when the cooldown ends, making precise timing difficult
Purity Reduces skill cooldowns by 2 seconds Negative luck rerolls probability effects, which can hurt proc-focused builds
Stone Flux Pauldron Doubles health Halves movement speed, slowing exploration and dodging

Choose according to the problem your build needs to solve. Extra damage is less useful if its health cost prevents you from surviving; extra health is not a universal upgrade when it removes mobility.

Passive items and lunar equipment

Passive lunar items keep working from your inventory and cannot be freely dropped like equipment. Lunar equipment occupies the active slot; most survivors hold one piece and can replace it by picking up another.

A Cleansing Pool removes a random eligible lunar item. It cannot target the exact one you want to delete.

Since October 8, 2026, Longstanding Solitude turns into a Pearl at the level cap.
