Get Encrypted Cerebellum
Enable Alloyed Collective and follow Access Node → Conduit Canyon → Solutional Haunt. The Drifter guide covers Sentry Keys, required terminals, and both Heat Vents.
Defeat Solus Wing and collect Encrypted Cerebellum. It is a WorldUnique quest item: yellow Command Essence and a Recycler cannot generate it for you.
Use the teleporter at Solus Wing’s eyes after the fight to reach Computational Exchange.
Craft Exposed Cerebellum
Find Wandering CHEF beside the waterfall to the left of SPEX. Combine Encrypted Cerebellum with an accepted component:

Check the recipe prompt before handing over the component. Functional Coupler and Faulty Conductor are not substitutes simply because they share the yellow item color.
The result is Exposed Cerebellum. “Decrypted” names the portal opened later, not the crafted item.
Offer it to SPEX
Use the Charity Shrine to offer Exposed Cerebellum to SPEX. It is consumed and the Decrypted Portal opens to Neural Sanctum. Ordinary items are thrown back onto the ground and do not replace the quest item.
Enter the new portal if you want to fight Solus Heart, then attack the orb to start the encounter. This final branch is not required to unlock Drifter.
If you are rescuing Drifter in the same run, reserve two Prison Matrices before spending one on crafting. Avoid gambling the quest item on Egocentrism, and do not attack SPEX if you want to use the exchange.
